How long does company registration take in India?
With documents ready, a private limited company can be registered in about 7 to 15 working days. Most of that time is spent waiting for name approval and incorporation processing at the Central Registration Centre.
Typical timeline
| Step | Days |
|---|---|
| Collect documents and get DSCs | 1–3 |
| Name approval (SPICe+ Part A) | 2–5 working days |
| Prepare MOA, AOA, DIR-2, INC-9, NOC | 1–2 (minutes with FreeCompliance) |
| File SPICe+ Part B and linked forms | 1 |
| Processing and approval | 3–7 working days |
What causes delays
- Name rejected or too similar to existing companies or trademarks
- Mismatched names or dates of birth across PAN, Aadhaar and address proof
- Utility bill older than two months
- Object clause not matching the business activity
- Foreign directors' documents not properly apostilled
Each resubmission can add several days. See SPICe+ rejection reasons.
