GST registration for a private limited company: process and documents
1 min read
A new company can get its GSTIN in two ways: by opting for it in AGILE-PRO-S while incorporating, or by applying in REG-01 on the GST portal any time later. Either way, the company's PAN is the base for the GSTIN.
Documents needed
- Company PAN and Certificate of Incorporation
- MOA and AOA
- PAN, Aadhaar and photographs of directors and the authorised signatory
- Board resolution appointing the authorised signatory
- Principal place of business proof: utility bill, plus rent agreement or NOC
- Bank account details (can be added after registration)
The process on the GST portal
- 1.Part A of REG-01: PAN, mobile and email, verified by OTP to get a temporary reference number.
- 2.Part B: business details, promoters, authorised signatory, place of business, goods and services (HSN/SAC codes).
- 3.Opt for Aadhaar authentication of the promoter and signatory.
- 4.Sign with DSC of the authorised signatory and submit.
- 5.The officer approves or raises a query. Approval usually comes within 7 working days with Aadhaar authentication; physical verification can extend it to 30 days.
